Waltham 16s 17J, circa 1900
Model 1899, "A.W.W.Co."
Pendant Set, Stem Wind
Gold Filled Triple Binged Case
Dial: This original
single sunk dial is signed WALTHAM. This classic dial features
Arabic hour numerals surrounded by red minute numerals and 5 minute
intervals. It appears to be in fine condition, with just a couple
of minor hairlines visible upon magnification. There also appears
to be a slight edge chip near the 43 minute mark. The cobalt blue
hands appear in fine condition as well!
Movement: The nickel
damaskeened movement is signed A.W.W.Co. WALTHAM, MASS in gold colored
engraving. It is also marked 17 JEWELS, ADJUSTED. It is in beautiful
condition with only a few hard to spot blemishes here and there
visible upon very close inspection. It features gold gilt screws,
as well as screw down jewel settings and a patent regulator. This
well running 108 year old watch has been serviced recently, and
is keeping good time!
Case: This case
is in good working order. It is signed C.W.CO with a crescent trademark
symbol. There are some dings here and there, some of which make
it impossible for the back cover to close flush with the case body.
There is a small gap that might be repairable. The case appears
original to this watch movement. The hinges all function correctly,
as does the crown and bow.
Crystal: The
clear glass crystal is in nearly new condition!
