Hamilton 16s 21J, circa 1920
Model 992, Railroad Watch
Lever Set, Stem Wind
Gold Filled Case
Dial: Original double
sunk Hamilton dial is in fine condition! There are a couple of very
minor hard to spot surface scratches visible upon close inspection
with the bezel removed. It features black Breguet style Arabic hour
numerals, along with red 5 minute numerls along the outer chapter
of the dial. The cobalt blue rail road style hands are in great
condition as well!
Movement: This is a
nice rail road grade model 992. This was the work horse for the
American rail way lines when it was produced. It features a gold
center wheel, gold jewel settings, and a double roller escapement.
It is adjusted to 5 positions. The "washboard" nickel damaskeening
and the gold colored engravings show well. This well running RR
Watch has been professionally cleaned and oiled, and is keeping
excellent time!
Case: The gold
filled screw back and bezel case is in excellent condition. There
are some signs of use, including a touch of wear to the brass on
the pendant and some toward the bottom of the case body. The wear
is hard to spot. The front bezel and back lid thread on and off
properly. The bow is nice and snug, and the crown has a lot of life
left.
Crystal: This
glass crystal is in great condition!
