Hamilton 16s 21J, circa 1913
Model 992, OF, Montgomery Dial
Lever Set, Stem Wind
Gold Filled "Dueber" Case
Dial: This dial turns
this ordinary (if you can call a Hamilton RR watch ordinary) watch
into an extraordinary watch! This original, highly collectable and
sought after Montgomery dial is signed "Hamilton" in script. The
bold black Arabic numerals are surrounded with minute numerals.
Every 5th minute is red instead of black. This double sunk dial
is in excellent condition, with minor blemishes, most of which are
around the outside edge covered by the bezel, including a small
edge chip near the 35 minute mark. The cobalt blue hands appear
to be in new condition.
Movement: This is an absolutely
beautiful earlier highly damaskeened model 992 railroad approved
movement. In gold lettering, it is marked 992, Adjusted 5
positions, Double Roller. This high grade movement also features
gold screw down jewel settings, and expansion balance, Breguet over
coil hair spring, and a patent micrometric regulator. It has been
professionally cleaned, oiled, adjusted and timed. It is keeping
very good time and is ready to be worn every day!
Case: The Dueber gold
filled case is in good condition, with normal pocket wear and some
minor brass showing on the bow and the back lid. Front
bezel is a little rough threading all the way down, but still very
usuable. The rear cover threads on and off with no problems.
Crystal: Clear crystal
appears to be made of high qualtiy plastic. It shows as well as
glass!
A great deal at this price for
