Elgin 16s 17J, circa 1904
Model 7, Grade 244
Pendant Set, Stem Wind
Gold Filled Screw Back & Bezel
Case
Dial: This original
single sunk Arabic numeral dial is signed ELGIN. There are very
few light hair line cracks visible upon inspection, as well as a
circular mark on the surface of the sub seconds chapter. The cobalt
blue hour and minute hands are in new conditon, and appear to be
replacements.
Movement: The
nickel damaskeened movement features screw down jewel settings and
a patent micro regulator. It is the more desirebale (collactable)
"3 Finger Bridge mode"l. It has been professionally cleaned
and oiled and is keeping good time.
Case: The screw
back and bezel case is marked WADSWORTH 14K GOLD FILLED. This gold
filled case has some minor scuffs and scratches from normal wear.
However, there does not seem to be any wear through to the base
metal (some refer to that sort of wear as "brassing".
The front bezel and rear cover thread on and off properly. The bow
and crown show little use.
Crystal: Clear
glass crystal is in NEW condition!
