Elgin 16s 17J, circa 1901
Model 6, Grade 241
Pendant Set, Stem Wind
Gold Filled Triple Hinged Case
Dial: This original
single sunk Roman numeral dial is signed ELGIN. Aside from some
extremely hard to spot surfaces scratches visible upon close inspection,
the dial appears in almost perfect condition! The cobalt blue spade
hands are in excellent condition as well!
Movement: The
nickel damaskeened movement has 17 jewels. It features screw down
jewel settings, as well as an expansion balance. This is the more
desirable "3 Finger Bridge" design. It has been professionally
cleaned and oiled and is keeping excellent time!
Case: The triple
hinged gold filed case is CRESCENT WARRANTED 25 YEARS. The case
is in nice shape, with minor pocket wear and a few small dings hear
and there due to normal use. There is also a pretty large dent on
the back cover, as seen in the photograph below. The dent is not
intrusive enough to interfere with the back lid closing, as it closes
fine. All three hinges, open and close fine, as do the bezel and
cuvette as well. There is a lot of life left on the bow and crown.
Crystal: Nice
clear glass crystal looks in nearly new condition!
