Model 2, Grade 70, Adjusted
"B. W. Raymond" RR Watch
Lever Set, Stem Wind
14K Gold Filled Case
Dial: Outstanding original double
sunk porcelain dial is signed "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co".
It is white with black Roman numerals, surrounded by railroad track
minute marks along the outside chapter of the dial. The dial is
in excellent condition, with just a couple of very faint hair lines.
The hands are deep blue and show only minor blemishes.
Movement: The 15 jewel gold
gilded movement is marked "B. W. Raymond, Elgin, Ill, Adjusted".
This was one of Elgins top of the line watches and would have been
approved for RR use when it was produced. It features a micrometric
patent regulator, and an expansion balance with gold timing screws.
It was recently professionally cleaned and oiled, and is running
well.
Case: This gold filled case
was made by Philadelphia Watch Case Company. It is in good condition.
The fancy engraving on the back is showing wear due to normal use.
There are a few minor touches of brass where the gold has worn off,
but it is still shows very well. The new old stock bow is tight
and shows very well. The crown shows little signs of wear, if any.
The bezel and back cover thread on and off as they should.
Crystal: The clear glass crystal
shows little to no blemishes and it looks as good as new!
